Another point of interest was creating an interactive game involving moving around and searching the museum. Too often the audience is relegated to a spectator role; however, in Soundquest, it is the audience’s interaction that creates the piece. In the search, the museum became not only an architectural design to view art, but could be seen as part of art itself. Museums have changed dramatically over the years – the infrastructure now offers various adjacent services such as cafés, restaurants, shops, activity centres and educational programmes to name but a few. In exploring the various sound locations, we hope to have engaged the participants in questioning the changing roles museums are playing today.
